Your Product Launch - The Killer Actions You Are Not Told About

Setting things up for a product launch is common sense, on the whole, but you're never told about the basics that have to go on in the background to make it operate, never mind work in terms of getting profits. These are not things most people want to know about. They'd prefer the surface glamour of the launch itself but without the long term basics, it won't work.

1. Build your list in every way you can. The fact that you can make offers to them over time, and not just once on a sales page, is extremely important. However, it's also about building links and a network so that a launch has as wide an effect as possible.

2. Develop your skills in understanding your business. This is not just understanding technical skills as much as you can, even though you might not be able to carry them all out personally. It's mainly about knowing what business you're really in, its ethos, branding potential and where it's building to in the future. Such understandings give your launch greater focus and clarity.

3. Content building is essential. This should take place over a lengthy time period, together with building your links. Your content needs to be as valuable as you can make it, without giving away all of your "secrets" which you'll want to sell. So, instead of writing a few articles, create a content map into as many places as possible. This will give your launch depth, connection and more authority.

4. Build relationships to develop joint ventures. Joint venture developments can occur through the growth of trust and working together on other tasks and projects by being on your list. Obviously, there must be benefit for the joint venture partners, usually in terms of financial reward. Whatever the arrangement, having these partnerships greatly increases the immediate audience for your launch.

Launch a Product Successfully

A lot of people lose a lot of time and money launching a new product because they don't focus their attention on the right things. I've seen a lot of people pull in little to no profit on a product launch, and most of the time, it could have been avoided.

Most small business owners follow the same steps when launching a product. They create their new product, publicize it on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, and maybe mention it to any affiliates they might have. Those things are great, but they're just not enough.

For a product to really succeed, you have to promote it heavily before launch. You need to generate attention and hype for your product before you're ready to send it out the door. Use your social networking accounts to start generating hype for your product weeks, or even months before it launches. Post updates on the progress of your new product on a regular basis, and encourage your audience to give feedback on the progress of the product. If you have a YouTube account, show some video footage of your new product in action. The more you can show off the product before its launch, the better.

If you're running an affiliate program for your business, reach out to your affiliates before your product launches, and make sure they know all about it. Give them any relevant marketing materials they might need to push your product, and make sure they know how to get a hold of you if they have any questions about your product. Having a good network of affiliates can help you to generate hype for your product prelaunch, so remember to keep them in the loop.

Once you've generated some hype for your product, you can launch it the same way detailed above. Be sure to talk to your customers, and make sure the product is being well received. If your customers have any issues with your product, try to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Take the time to properly promote your new product before it launches. If you just send a product out the door without warning, you're sending it to its death. Be sure to keep your target market engaged, and use your affiliate network to get the word out. By taking the time to launch your product the right way, you can ensure more sales down the line.

Product Launch - Not As Difficult As You Think

The thought of having your own product launch may seem like a daunting task. Having your product make its way towards a sale register is far easier than you think. The tasks needed to have a successful launch are also easily accomplished.

To see your own product launching, you obviously need to generate your product. This part is not only easy, it can also be enjoyable. If you have overcome struggles and can give detailed instructions, others may need to hear your story. Don't over think the basics, it really starts that easily!

Advertising and exposure are critical components in your product's successful entry into the online marketplace. When your product is launching on the internet, you have a wide array of buyers you can reach to, but do you fill a need for them? If you had written a diabetes daily guide, for example, you wouldn't necessarily be targeting a high school senior researching a history report. Come up with a list of words that relate to people who deal with your book's topic. They may search items pertaining to insulin or diet, or potentially be looking toward how to lower the effects diabetes has on them. That list you just created gave you the keywords you want in your advertising.

If you are like most people, you might need some time to think about potential purchases in your future. The idea in the previous sentence is people do not buy something right away but could have a genuine interest in doing so. A tool that can help you attain "post viewing" sales for your product launch is a squeeze page to help build a mailing list. The mailing list portion of your product launching could also help you sell future products at a later date. Your mailing list could also entice people to sell your product for you if you give cash incentives.

Being involved in a product launch can be scary, until you realize just how easy it is. We have established you need an idea, which is an obvious fact. Next you need traffic and exposure for sales and also needed is a "grab them" idea, so you can sell to them later if they do not buy immediately.

How To Product Launch

When releasing a new product to the marketplace, one of the first questions asked is how to product launch. There have been many strategies and tactics used over the years, as marketing people have devised their own ways of doing things, but one that has been used repeated in many different guises and has stood the test of time is the Product Launch Formula.

This is a strategy that has been made popular by Jeff Walker who coined the term after taking what Hollywood and the movie industry were doing for decades. It is a strategy similar to what Apple uses when launching any of their products, and has generated great success with the iPad and the more recent iPhone 4 launches.

But what is this strategy to product launch that has generated billions of dollars for Apple with their products, and makes hundreds of millions of dollars worldwide for entrepreneurs and online marketers every year?

It can be simplified into 5 steps:

Create Or Find A List Of People Create A Compelling Story Around Your Product Give People An Amazing Sample Of Your Product Create An Event With Your Launch Date To Create Excitement Take The Product Off The Market To Increase Scarcity

Create Or Find A List Of People No matter how good your product is, unless you have someone who is interested in it, you are not going to get any sales. Building and having a list of customers and prospects is key to your success in a Product Launch. Now, you can start without having a list of your own. But you will need the help of others who do have lists who are willing to market your product to their list.

Create A Compelling Story Around Your Product When you talk to someone about your product, again, it does not matter how good your product is, if they are not engaged when you are talking about it, you will not get the sale. During a Prelaunch, you have to engage your prospects with a compelling story about you and/or your product. The story has to give them a sense of power, that they will achieve a certain result when they buy it, or that it is a lot harder to achieve that result if they do not have it.

In the case of Apple products, like the iPad, or iPhone, the compelling story is that the products are just the coolest products on the planet, and having them not only gives you technical excellence from Apple, but super cool status too. The same cannot be said for Microsoft products, but that is a totally different article.

Having a compelling story around your product increases the success of your Product Launch, as Steve Jobs has demonstrated time and time again, and multiplies the sales of your product many times over.

Give People An Amazing Sample Of Your Product Just like any movie release, give your prospects an amazing sample of your product. During a Prelaunch you will get samples of what is on offer, and for very good reason. Giving a sample allows people to experience what they are going to buy. By giving them something you generate reciprocity with them, which increases their potential to buy your product. And as with the best Hollywood blockbuster, you get your prelaunch content right, you will have a big pay day when you release it.

Create An Event With Your Launch Date To Create Excitement Staying on the Hollywood theme, every big movie has a release date. This is because they are creating an event around the release. Steve Jobs uses this same strategy to great effect too when Apple releases a new product. You will not see any other electronics company release a product anywhere near the date Apple is taking centre stage. When you have marked your date, you are blocking anyone else in your marketplace releasing on that date. You have the high ground and you are commanding that time. Making an event with your launch puts you and your product in the spotlight and amplifies the buzz around your products launch.

Take The Product Off The Market To Increase Scarcity One of the biggest tactics used in Product Launch Formula is taking the product off the market to create exclusivity and generate scarcity. By taking the product not available, you force the people on the fence to either buy, or not buy. The people who are tempted to buy are forced to purchase the product for risk of not having it. When something is available, and you then take it away, it triggers a reaction in the brain to want it. By taking something away that they had, or potentially had, makes it more valuable. Use this strategy with great caution, as it can backfire if used in excess or incorrectly.

Product Launch Manager: Helping You Start Your Launch the Right Way

You expect your product launch manager to lead your launch from beginning to end. Still, you can't get to the end if the beginning isn't right. Here is a frequently asked (and smart) question about how a product launch manager should help you start your launch campaign.

Q: What is the first step in creating my launch story?

A: This is a great question. Every launch has a great story and that story should reveal a process for your prospects to reach their desired end goal. The first thing you should do is write out the steps needed to accomplish that specific task. As an example, I will use the process of getting into a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program. It's a challenging process, I have personal experience with it, and people pay money for products in this market.

Here is an example process to use if you were selling an information product to someone trying to earn admission into a top-tier MBA program:

Step 1 - Choose your career field. (Where would you like to work after school?)

Step 2 - Choose your learning style. (Which way do you prefer to learn...lecture, case, or on the job?)

Step 3 - Choose your primary schools. (Which schools are the best for your career and learning goals?)

Step 4 - Take the GMAT. (This is the standard admissions test you must score well on to get accepted.)

Step 5 - Write your essays. (Make sure you allow time for this. You are definitely going to need multiple revisions)

Step 6 - Secure your recommendations. (Ask respected people at your job to refer you to school.)

Step 7 - Interview at schools. (Make time in your schedule to visit and interview the schools you are most interested in.)

Step 8 - Get accepted. (Job well done!)

Now that you have written this out, you can put a story around it. Do you have personal experience navigating these steps? Do you have a testimonial from someone else navigating these steps? You have just outlined the main story you are going to tell in your upcoming launch. Follow your outline to make sure that your launch sequence stays on track.

I'm really glad this question came up. It is very important to tell the right story to the right audience. Think about your target customer and outline the process that will get them to their desired goal. This is the best way to create a compelling launch story.

Alternative Product Launch Strategies That Can Make You More Sales

When you're looking to launch a product, you might be wondering how to best maximise your sales and conversion. After all, the more products you sell, the more money you will make. More importantly though, a strong launch can also set the way for long term profits. People who are seeing your launch going well are more likely to wish to promote as an affiliate. This will get you names onto your mailing list, as well as make you an immediate income. So, you need to consider the different product launch strategies that I'm going to outline for you in this article.

First, consider launching through a partner, rather than directly to your own list. By doing so, you are offering an initial period of exclusivity. This can be very attractive to potential joint venture partners who are wanting to make sales before the market becomes saturated for a product. You only need one big or good joint venture partner to have a very successful launch using this strategy.

A second alternative method to consider is as follows. Look to use a strictly time limited launch, where the product is only offered for a compressed period, say 24 hours or 48 hours. Anyone who misses out on purchasing during this time period has to wait until the next time limited launch, which may be months away. Providing you build up the launch date well, people have a huge incentive to get in whilst the offer is available, rather than wait and potentially miss out.

There's a third method which you should consider, and that's to launch your product using a webinar. A webinar is a live video stream of your computer screen, which is broadcast directly into the home of your prospects. They hear your voice and can ask you questions. This is a great well to sell potential customers on the benefits of your product, as well as to answer objections live. Seriously consider a webinar if you want your launch to be a spot above the norm.

All the alternative launch methods and strategies that I've outlined in this article are effective when used at the right time. Make sure you consider carefully if one of these is ideal for your next launch. Consider using a webinar for instant appeal. Time limit your launch to add scarcity. Or launch initially through a good join venture partner. Never end up stuck purely with a traditional launch ever again.

How to Launch the Snot Out of Your E-book - Your Competition Won't Know What Hit 'em

Product launching for information products is part science, part luck, and part charisma. If you want to be successful in the e-book business, you are going to need to develop a system for launching your work. Otherwise, without a launch, your product will fall flat on its face. Keep reading for some great tips on launching your information product.

The key with creating a positively successful product launch is to start early. You need to give your marketing message enough time to reach a large amount of customers. You also need to have the proper vehicles in place so that your fans will have incentive to spread the word as well.

That is the key to a successful launch. You need to have a certain amount of word of mouth advertising going on at the same time. This is what really drives people to buy. To have a successful product launch, you cannot do it alone. You must have a group of people that are all promoting your e-book at the same time.

You need to develop a rewards program with affiliate sales, discounts, or some other type of incentive for your biggest fans to become sounding boards for your new information product. You need to put out the same message every time you create a marketing piece. Your customer has to get a similar marketing message on a frequent basis before they will make a buying decision. Some people will buy on the first notice. Some people need 30-40 interactions with your material before they finally buy. Time - you have to have enough time for the launch. You cannot create a successful product launch in 2 days. In most cases, you should leave at lest 3-4 weeks of contact before launch. If the product is more involved or more expensive, you may need to launch over many months. Don't allow the prospects to get bored during the launch- Hold contests about spreading the word. Slowly squeak out little tidbits of information out to the public. You have to hold their interest over that entire time.

Once your launch period is over, your prospects will be so ready to make a purchase that they will barely read any of your sales material. Use this time to grab testimonials and keep that energy going so that you can keep a relatively high level of sales going even AFTER the launch is complete. I highly discourage deep discounts during a launch, or you will see a huge drop in purchases from that day forward. Give other types of bonuses for people that purchase on launch day instead.
