Creating Product Launches Which Produce

When it comes to creating products and services your ideal clients will fall all over themselves to get, the Field of Dreams movie quote "If you build it, he will come", doesn't apply.

All too often I see entrepreneurs spend weeks and months creating a great product and, in the end, they're lucky to recoup the cost (forget about the time) involved..

When all the frustration and desperation in hoping for more sales could have been averted with a simple Marketing Action Plan (MAP). And once created, the Plan becomes a system that you can use again and again..

Let's look at a typical launch:

1. You create a new ebook..

2. You promote it via your social networking accounts and in your ezine and.

3. If you're really on top of things, you've announced it to your affiliates and asked them to promote..

And now you wait...and wait...and wait for the sales to come in. After all, people are making $10,000, $20,000 a month selling information products online..

And, with a little luck, you've recouped your costs for artwork, shopping cart fees, etc..

And then there's the launch which uses a MAP:

Research to ensure your ideal clients actually want what you're creating (Nancy wrote a great post on this).

1. Plan realistic revenue goals for the product.

2. Build anticipation with your ideal clients by distributing content related to the topic of your new upcoming product.

3. Create affiliate-friendly marketing tools which doesn't include harassing your affiliates to promote.

4. Host a preview teleclass (where you share valuable content) on the topic.

5. Launch your product.

6. Follow-up to ensure your clients are happy.

Following the above Marketing Action Plan for each and every new product and service will ensure that you not only make more sales, your clients will stay around a lot longer.
